Why We’re Retiring Open Polls: A Reflection on Platform Integrity

The past couple of months at Boss Global Radio have been loud. Polls, block parties, listening events—we opened the door wide and invited the community in. But during this unexpected pause in our programming, we’ve had time to look closer. And what we saw wasn’t just fandom—it was manipulation.
Every public poll we hosted on X—meant to guide our Boss Block Parties and Listening Party lineups—was compromised. Some fans coordinated mass votes using multiple accounts. Others promised cash prizes or giveaways to skew results in favor of their faves. These campaigns turned what should’ve been a celebration of music into a race for visibility at all costs.
Let’s be clear: We’re not against hype. We’re against hype without heart. We’re against turning engagement into a transaction or turning a platform into a pawn. Boss Global Radio is built on intention. And we protect what we build.
That’s why we’re making changes:
No more open polls for programming decisions.
No more tolerance for monetized campaigns that manipulate outcomes.
No more giving our space away to those who don’t honor it.
Moving forward, events will be curated—just like our playlists. Verified listener input may still be gathered through official BGR channels. But the loudest crowd won’t decide the direction. Quality will.
We also recognize that not every artist who lost in those polls lost fairly. As part of our shift toward integrity-driven curation, some of those artists will still receive spotlight moments—on our terms and on our timeline. Because when we say music deserves respect, we mean all of it. Especially the voices that got buried under noise.
We owe it to the artists who trust us. We owe it to the listeners who show up without needing an incentive. And we owe it to the vision this station was built on.
Thank you to everyone who rides with us in good faith. We’re not just coming back—we’re coming back cleaner, bolder, and more grounded than ever.
People have lost their mind!
That’s weird people would buy votes on an online station
Wow! Fuck those cheaters! You should zap their music and never play them again. 🤬
Thank you #BossGlobalRadio for everything. This radio station is the only place that I can count good music and fun. I hope you guys overcome the problem soon and we all can party together with the music and lots of fun. Cheers to every one of and have a great day.
