Here is a list of groups that are helping people who have been affected by the disaster, from families to first responders.

More than 180,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in Los Angeles County because of the wildfires that started in different places on Tuesday (Jan. 7). 24 people have died and thousands of homes have been destroyed by the wildfires, which are still being fought by firefighters across the area.

More and more groups are stepping up to help those affected by the tragedies by raising money and giving them resources. This list of ways to help city residents, first responders, and music fans is always being updated.

Support for Families and Outdoor Workers

The LAUSD Education Emergency Relief Fund is helping families and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) workers right away who have been affected by the terrible fires. The fund will give direct cash aid and support to families and employees who were affected by the fires. It will also help teachers and provide resources for students at affected schools so that learning can continue as much as possible. The fund will also offer flexible help for mental health issues and support for other short-term and long-term needs of students, families, and teachers.

The Black Music Action Coalition has set up an immediate relief fund to help Black people and small companies in the L.A. area that have been affected by the terrible fires that are still going on. The group will immediately send all money collected to relief efforts as soon as it comes in.

Inclusive Action has set up a GoFundMe page to help outdoor workers who have been affected by wildfires by giving them money. Directly, the emergency aid fund will give $500 to "open-air workers." These are people whose jobs require them to work outside, like street sellers, landscapers, and recyclers.

This Is About Humanity has set up a fund to help migrant farm workers, day laborers, and other important workers and their families who have been badly affected by the recent fires in Los Angeles. From now until January 31, TIAH will match up to $50,000 in gifts to help with housing, food, and other important things.

Support for First Responders

If you give to the LA Fire Department Foundation, it will help the brave firemen who come out in real time to protect people, homes, and communities.

As more information about the damage comes in, the CA Fire Foundation is working with local fire departments and community-based groups to give direct cash help to people who have been affected. The California Fire Foundation also helps firefighters, the families of firefighters who have died, and the areas they serve.

Essential Items for Families in Need

Baby2Baby helps families in need by giving them diapers, clothes, hygiene items, and emergency kits through hundreds of community partners.

World Central Kitchen is giving sandwiches and warm meals to first responders and families in the Los Angeles area who have been affected by the wildfires.

Through this spreadsheet, Mutual Aid LA Network is constantly working to make a full list of all the groups that can help and take donations.

Support for Music Professionals

The Recording Academy and MusiCares have started the Los Angeles Fire Relief effort to help music workers who have been affected by the fire. They have also pledged a total of $1 million to start a fundraising campaign. This is where you can give.

A crisis relief fund for musicians in Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas has been set up by the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. The money raised will help people get back the music gear they lost, pay their medical bills from the fires, and cover other important living costs. "Early and mid-career producers, engineers, and artists who have lost studio space or gear” in the wildfires can get help from the We Are Moving the Needle Microgrants Wildfire Relief Fund. People who want to give money can do so here.

The 100 Percenters have started the LA Wildfire Relief Fundraiser to help professional musicians, songwriters, producers, and artists who live in "wildfire-impacted areas" in Los Angeles County and "can demonstrate wildfire-related loss and financial need." The fundraiser is for musicians who have "verifiable industry contributions." With grants of up to $2,500, the fund will help people right away with housing, transportation, and other necessities. It will also help with rebuilding with grants of up to $10,000 to replace equipment and "restore creative spaces," and it will assist with mental health with grants of up to $2,000 for counseling and wellness services. Give money here.

Mid/Long-Term Relief

The California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund helps people who were hurt by the fires get back on their feet in the middle and long run.

The Pasadena Community Foundation's Eaton Canyon Fire Recovery and Relief Fund is getting local funds together to help the towns of Pasadena and Altadena in Los Angeles County with their recovery from the fire.

The PLUS1LA Fires Fund will help local charities that are giving people who have lost their homes shelter and care. This includes providing PPE to keep people from breathing in smoke, food, clothing, diapers, formula, hygiene items, and mental health support for people who are dealing with trauma. In the long run, it will assist individuals, families, towns, and the environment in recovering from the damage.
