As the calendar shifted to 2025, another change occurred: Facebook went dark for us.
Since the launch of BossGlobalRadio.com in May 2024, we have encountered censorship and suppression of back links to our official website, events, posts, blogs, and more. We had built a small community of loyal listeners there, and while we prospered in growth, so did the toxicity and cancer of hate from certain groups of people, mainly within the freestyle music community/genre.
It started in May 2024 within 3 hours of posting our link. We shared it with multiple Facebook groups that we had joined and were actively participating in. We even paid to boost the post so that people would know the great news. Then, an ugly notification was received from Facebook support: the post with our link was removed because "it went against Facebook's community standards.".
Shockingly, we submitted an appeal to that decision. Our website is official, and our company is an LLC registered with the Texas Secretary of State. We submitted the documents, and still, no answer, no reply, nothing.
Our listeners tried sharing the link, and they would get an error message.
We emailed them explaining what was happening and again sent in documentation via email. Still nothing.
At that point, we thought, Why even use Facebook if we can't even promote our business?
We then decided to keep fighting back, submitting appeals and sharing the links to download our mobile app. It seemed legit and reasonable given the circumstances.
Then came more censorship. Every post containing music clips or samples going back to 2021 was removed, essentially wiping away hundreds of posts.
All the work we had been putting in over 3 years was suddenly ripped away from us. We submitted documentation that we pay copyright royalties to Sound Exchange and again, no response.
It was inevitable that things would deteriorate further at that point; the question was not if, but when.
A fresh new start.
We made a new page on January 2, 2025. It seems like a great way to start a new year with a new beginning.
